fieldwanderer Posted December 24, 2016 Report Share Posted December 24, 2016 So my fac finally dropped on the doormat yesterday and the .260 that I put in for was given the ok but, it's to rebarrel one of my rifles  The fac now has authority to aquire .260rem barrel 🤔 is that how it's done or do I need to get it changed before I can have my rifle changed from .22-250 to .260? fieldwanderer Posted December 24, 2016 Author Report Share Posted December 24, 2016 That's the other way of looking at it - hence the question  The rifles still with me  If I put the .260 barrel on my rifle, surely it's then a .260 b/a rifle (as opposed to a barrel) which I don't have authority for on my cert.  As it stands, I guess I could have the smith machine flats into both barrels for a spanner and use either - as with a sako quad, for example (not that I would want to), but doesn't that contradict my previous paragraph? Â Sign it over to the gunsmith that is doing the work and he puts it on his books, do a 1-1 variation to swap a 22-250 rifle for the 260 rifle. Get the gunsmith to change the rifle and then put the "new" rifle on your ticket? Â Is that how it should work? I would have thought so. You have been granted the new call, so that's done, you informed them about the change of calibre on your application. So the gun Smith will just change the calibre on the "purchased rifle ?
