Smokersmith
Folks, The old Penningtons, more recently Sinclairs is now in new hands. Shooting people I understand .... One of the Extons? Does anyone have any more info on this, and any plans they have for investment? Having a nice sporting venue on my doorstep would be nice!! jay404
Hi I used to like sinclairs was very convenient could pop in the summer after work and get a quick round of sporting in. Liked how the setup changed regularly and was always being tidyed up and improved. Hope the new owner doesn't out the prices up too much but I got a funny feeling that is inevitable. I'll have to pop down and see what the craic is soon .

Big Mat
I presume it's still open as normal at the moment?
Rupert
Is he keeping the statue in the clubhouse?
Alex1Nat2
Went to 'sinclairs' today. All signs now say East of England. Money already being spent with wireless buttons on many stands including Skeet. Some good clays including a driven pair off the tower which they never had before. Only had 1 NB over 300 clays so can't complain. Bad news is the fountain has gone!!
Rupert
They were asking a phenomenal amount for the ground, including the statue.

Snap !! 4 of us did the 100 Sporting this afternoon ... apart from 1 stand set up right in the sun, couldn't fault it. Looks like it will develop nicely. Alex1Nat2
Stand 2 then! Shot 5. Could only 'see' one of the loopers. Particularly liked the long teal over the pond.
bobshooting
Went there last Saturday, 3 of us, we thought it as good as ever. We travelled there from Kings Lynn. Was well worth the journey, but watch out on the A17, speed cameras. Recommended.
chesterse
Great to see the ground have a new lease of life. Ten sporting stands at the moment but they have plans to increase this number. The targets are imo pitched at the right level for most shooters.. They also have a driven flush area and skeet and dtl. Most importantly the food is good too and the staff friendly and helpful. I see on Facebook they are clearing ground to increase the shooting area and also have a sporting competition coming up in May. All in all good news to have another local ground to go to. VicW
I was introduced to shotgun shooting at Peningtons (as was) in 1984 as a birthday present. They were driven birds from over a hedge trapped by an old fella who was the guy Jack used to send up the tower hugging a box of clays !! Many happy days since then until shoulder problems stopped me shooting but I am a lot richer ! Vic.

chesterse
Sounds like Ted was the guy I saw there years ago with a bloody V on his forehead!,,, The skeet trap had been playing up - he went to fiddle with it and it smacked him one as described above. Not to be deterred he carried on as if nothing had happened. Them old Fen boys are pretty tough!
