If someone is a AA class DTL shooter then how can they possibly be a class C shooter in DTL single barrel....

i know its a very SLIGHTLY different discipline but surely a AA class DTL shooter hits most if not all of his targets with the first barrel......

just seems slightly unfair to me..... :/

when he first shot registered dtl he would get catagorised as C class in both single barrel and normal.

he then will have only got his classification updated on what he shot so if all he did was dtl and no single barrel then only his dtl classification would change, hence the AA C class difference,

I'm not sure that what Emmsy's saying is correct, it is possible to go straight in to AA class if you shoot scores that put you in that clasification, it's not true that everybody automatically gets put in "C" class.

I went straight into "A" class at Sporting many years ago, so it is possible.

I'm sure Pin won't be classified as a "C" class shooter when he gets his first classification. :/

Having said all that, I've noticed that I'm down as "C" class for DTL, and I've never shot a single registered DTL shoot in my life, how's that come about..??

sorry cat it didnt come out quite right as i was trying to explain.

you can go in at any class level, just depends what scores you put in.

i was saying in the case of the bloke in question its likely he got classified originally in C class and not shot any single barrel but shot dtl and moved upto AA rank.

as from 1st july it looks like im in AAA for sporting, EEk!

Welcome to the elite band of Sporting shooters, at least it proves you can shoot.

The downside is that it's the hardest class to win any money in, as you've only got to beat Faulds and Diggy..!! :good:

And that is the main problem with clay shooting, people think they are the elite.

Slightly sidetracking form that although CPSA related, is it only me or has anyone else noticed that since their defeat over the name change ballot they are doing everything they can not to use the word "PIGEON"

They refer to themselves as the CPSA everywhere they can and insist on using the word "TARGET"

I am not a member and while they have their heads firmly up there own ***** I will never be. People harp on about keeping the tradition in shooting wearing tweed and using side by sides yet the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association want to do everything they can to distance themselves from their Heritage.

Yes they are avoiding pigeon as much as they can and I don't blame them, if I had a plan I wouldn't let the simple fact that nobody at all in the membership gives a **** affect me or my plans

No, I will be C class and I am, and because I didn't shoot well enough (save the English open)

However, since gaining this classification I have received in the post an enormous CPSA sponsored sombrero and a novelty donkey to take with me to any further registered shoots :good:

its just a queery cos i know the bloke in question who won class c at the recent british and english single barrel

i just dont think its fair..... :D

i havnt shot registered for a couple of years now and the cPsa wont let me go down to being a clubman member but thats a whole new topic which im not starting on ;) ..but needless to say its one of the reasons why im not renewing and will be joining the NGO.... :P

I wouldn't complain Pin, I reckon you could make a fair bit of money before the new classifications are done. Better start putting that sombrero to good use. ;)

Well Emmsy Congratulations on AAA, respect to those of you that can shoot an average of 85.5 and above consistently. Elite or not well done.

I've just looked at the classifications and although I'm only B class ( we're elite too  ) my average has gone up from 68 to 73. I'm delighted with that. Catamong can take a bow for helping me improve because he's stood behind me for the last 6 months tutting, huffing and puffing like an old woman when I'm shooting.

Hmmm, I've just checked my averages, I shouldn't really complain at 87.5, but this year I can't seem to get the good scores at the shoots that really count.. :P:drool:

Anyway, a big congrats to Jonsey for a real solid performance, all of that tutting and cajoling by me appears to be paying dividends, your swing and timing has really improved.:lol: , keep up the good work gal..!!
