deadeyedick
I have always shot side by sides, however I want to change to this gun. Has anyone had any experience with it?
DanJ
I assume all the AL391 Urika's are the same simply with a different stock finish....... I have the synthetic black version and its brilliant, absolute quality, awesome pattern. The gun is also vaguely customisable, you can change the butt pad, stock length, the cast and make it left or right handed. There will abviously be a big difference between side by sides and auto's, but simple practice cures all problems. The only quibles I have with the synthetic stock versions are; Plastic feel to stock You can see and sometimes feel the mould cast line along the top of the butt cheek Really wierd noise the gun makes when firing with full ear defenders on (a sort of booooooiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggg) plastic muffs on plastic stock??. Fear not, this is NOT a faulty gun, wear plugs instead. Gun sounds cool when other people listen to it when behind you. Plastic choke key However, the rest of the gun is great. Action is perfect (will jam when running the gun in...as soon as 500 rounds or so have gone down the gun doesnt really jam anymore. You get the new moble long chokes (4 of then). The weight of the gun maybe a bit heavy but i got used to it very quickly. All in all the best semi auto out there (except for the teknes gold thing (cant spell it)) Unless you want the plastic stock for going through hedges backwards, rolling in mud and climbing up cliffs the wood version feels better and looks better (you will scratch the varnish) !!!GREAT GUN NO MATTER WHAT STOCK YOU GET!!! webber
Darkturd has basically said it all, I can only agree with everything that he has said, except that I have only once ecperienced a jam with Beretta semis, and that was due to a faulty gamebore cartridge. Get one bought! webber

deadeyedick
with a 3'' chamber, what are the heaviest loads I could put through it?
ernyha
DED i have looked at the handbook for mine and the top load they mention is a 2oz 3" magnum. I have owned my A391 synthetic cammo now for about 4 years and wouldn't dream of trading it in yet, brilliant gun. For a good allround gun that does't mark when you knock it about in a hide, you won't better a 391 synthetic in my opinion. Only ever had a jam when i hadn't pushed the second shot right home in the magazine tube. Like all gas operated guns though, they are a bit more trouble to clean properly. :<
deadeyedick
after a while does the camo come off? Is it easilly scratched?
ernyha
after a while does the camo come off? Is it easilly scratched? DED as i mentioned in my post, you can knock the gun about in the hide and it doesn't mark. Mine looks just as good as the day i bought it. dead-eye-dick
after a while does the camo come off? Is it easilly scratched? I have one in Realtree, I have drilled a hole to take a sling, the plastic is green/brown right through - not painted on. As everyone has said would NEVER chop mine for anything, point it at something and it's dead....
ernyha
:*) I am obviously slowing up in my old age as i hadn't realised until today that we have two "dead eye *****" posting in the forum. Going to get even worse now that they both own A391 Cammo guns. Must admire the choice of gun though as i love mine and agree with all the good publicity it is getting in here lately.

Browning
Do I see the makings of a Beretta AL391 appreciation society here ? The AL391 Urika is getting so much good press on this forum......I've just been out and bought a second hand Synthetic field! 6 months old, shot about 250 (He said) in mint condition. Let's hope it shoots as good for me as yours do for you...I'll find out in the morning.

Rimfire
Hi Guys, My wife has a 391 and uses it for clays every weekend. She puts around 500 cartridges a week through it and it has never shown up a problem. It does get gunky inside if you don't clean it regularly but has never let her down. I would love to use it myself but she has had the stock shortened and now it is too short for me to use. An excellent gun and a good all-rounder. You wont go far wrong buying one. Regards Rimfire
tommy trucker
i've a 391 extrema and use it for evrything. with this model you have the choice of loads up to 3.5 mags (steel) for wild fowl. it has never let me down and will cycle all loads from 1oz - 3.5 mags with ease. no wonder this model is so popular.
