Bemused
I'm looking for a trailer which needs to be about 7' long. I've been looking on auction sites and seen a few but am I better buying from a dealer? (I can claim the Vat back) Apart from missing serial numbers what should I be looking out for? billytheghillie
I was looking for a 2nd hand one as well. Most of them were piles of carp and overpriced. In the end I bought a Ifor Williams 8x4 new trailer. Glad I did as its a good piece of kit.
db135
Price up a new ifor Williams youl be surprised there not as expensive as you think I'd be buying brand new look after it last year's and especially if you can claim the vat back if you do want to sell it down the line always be able to sell on
Grunta
Take a look at Humbaur for an alternative vgood make. I picked up one when I was abroad as i had to bring back furniture to the UK a few years back. I was intending on selling it but never did as it's so useful. German made, excellent quality. 1.6T load capacity, braked, tandem for 2k incl VAT. Can PM you a link to their site if you cant find it on Google. I went with the tandem as I thought it was safer (in case of blowouts). Its a nice size and not massive to tow around. Also easy to push about by itself. moondoggy
Bought mine from here. http://www.blueline-trailers.co.uk Got it to transport my ride-on mower. 8x5 drop back, paid about a grand, including VAT. They also sell various attachments for them. Very well made trailers IMO.

WGD
Thanks for the help everyone. Think I'll go for the brand new option. New Ifor Williams is not much more than any second hand one you would actually want to buy, good decision.

bostonmick
I gave up years ago looking for second hand trailers to buy.got sick of driving miles to end up looking at trailers that were obviously stolen.and all had a wonderful story as to why they were missing their serial numbers. Even some that have the number cut into the drawbar had been cut about.i just go to the local ifor dealer and buy new.
Simon1
I spent years looking. Finally got a new Ifor tipper. Ignore the RRP though, better deals around.
