Seadog1408
It looks like Holland chickened out of voting for the far right candidate although he was ahead in the polls before the election They didn't stand up in 40, they won't stand up now. Jaymo
Nice reply to someone who thinks that a 'Political Party' that advocates a similar policy to the one you quoted as the Dutch having rolled over on in 40 is ok
Vince Green
Although Geet Wilders didn't get elected he is still the elephant in the room as far as Dutch politics are concerned. I would predict he actually could have more influence as the no 2 than he would have had if he had won. Waiting for France now. chrisjpainter
No capital needed gaymo, so just naive. It's always best to make sure you can spell before correcting someone's grammar. It's Jaymo. I'm assuming you've just made a spelling mistake. Or are you saying he's a particularly happy member? or... What are you expecting them to stand up to? It seems that a pretty resounding victory for Rutte would suggest that the Dutch are quite prepared to stand up to indiscriminate persecution of one particular religious group. Smokersmith
I have been in the Netherlands today and they were very pleased with the result as they see it as 'stopping the rot' .... although they didn't like it when I pointed out Wilders got more votes than Farage .....
