Dan73
Is there any use for these anymore - does anyone used them for anything else other than old style soldering? I managed to pick up 3 of them in a box of old woodturning tools recently and it would seem a shame to just get rid of them.

The Heron
That's brought back some memories, but if you want to solder from a practical point of view put them in a draw and then go and look at some of todays modern irons they will solder very small electrical items upwards. ditchman
they are big enough to solder rads............getting hold of a electric soldering iron big enough (wattage) to solder rads is a very expensive exersise....hang onto them.. fortune
They've seen a bit of treatment. There used to be ones like an axe shape. heated in a sort of small gas oven. stick solder and bakers fluid. Clean twice solder once. Rads are pretty much all ally core and plastic headers now. Tools from a bygone era
