Hi all my shotgun licence expired on the 23rd march i put in for my renewal on the 9th January so well in reasonable time. The feo took my old licence away with him. I now know i should have kept this. Anyway it's expired and iv not been re issued my new one yet so spoke to feo regards a temporary license. And he said it's all done they now don't actually issue them they just make a note on the system. Well if my reading of basc is correct that is not the case and in now not meant to be in possession.and as i don't have any proof of a certificate other than a photograph of my expired one my guns should be sent into storage. Can anyone confirm this for me and what's the best way to resolve it?

I am a member. I intend on calling them tomorrow. I can't understand it another person i know just put in for a grant so a new license and that's taken the same force 3 weeks we both live in the same village so why Would the process one and issues it and not the other that's just making work.

I was told by my FEO that renewals would take priority over grants, because they don't want poeple to be in possession of firearms without a valid cert, and a grant has no firearms only the right to acquire.
