Good shot?
On more than one occasion I have seen Buzzards come down to and on one occasion take away fallen dead woodpigeon. However I Was out on Sunday trying to attract 'the' passing pigeon and had a couple of decoys lofted about 20 metres away. When I heard a loud clunk and just managed to see one of the lofted decoys falling from the tree and a Buzzard (one of four) swooping away I assume surprised at the impact he felt as he hit the decoy at speed.I would have liked to have caught that on Go Pro. Love being out and about seeing these things go on, but unfortunately on this day only the one pigeon for my efforts but a nice day again all the same. I have also had a Buzzard come down in the past and watched it drag a dead rabbit a couple of yards further away from a crow decoy.
GingerCat
I caught one trying to tickle my floater with its claws. It couldont work out if it should take it or not and just hovered above it in the wind for a few seconds ringing about it. In the end it wandered about and decided to eat a shot pigeon so I stood up and it ******** off. The increase in buzzards round here coincides with the decrease of rabbits especially in the day time. Walker570
Had a peregrine hit a plastic decoy once at a fair rate of speed. The decoy was knocked about 20yrds and the peregrine circled a couple of times, obviously in complete amazement. Someone commented to me yesterday, saying they would not have the patience to sit and wait for pigeons or a rabbit or two and I tried to explain that there was a myriad of things going on out there in the countryside to keep you entertained. Like the weasel that popped its head under the edge of the my blind a week ago. Things you can't see on your mobile phone
filzee
Last week we had a buzzard land in the decoys, a sparrow hawk try and take a dead bird off and 3 roe deer wander straight infront of the hide. It's not all about the shooting
Mice!
Couple of months back when out with the dog just happened to look round as a buzzard plowed into an oak tree, didn't see it come out so don't know if it was after a pigeon or squirrel only ever seen them on carrion before looked like a goshawk or Harris the way it went in. KFC
Decoying last month and a Buzzard attacked the Pigeon on my flapper. I had to straighten out the bend in the ground spike of my flapper.
