Wingman
Hey guys Ok so now that thanks to a friendly local gunsmiths my Mossberg 600AT is now in fully operational condition, just needed a new disconnector spring in the trigger group. I cant wait to get out with it over the weekend! So my question is regarding the CLECT choke that I have on the gun, I wondered if anyone can explain how it works. I get that the looser it is the more open the pattern, but I have examined closely and there are no markings at all to show where it should be set properly. I wont have time to pattern the gun this weekend but would like to take it for a bit of a walk on my perm tomorrow or Sunday so any help would be appreciated! Cheers

Walker570
Many moons since I had one and if I remember, I screwed it up full and then made a couple of turns back and left it at that. Like all these interchangeable chokes I just screwed in the two full chokes and left them there. Up to me to shoot straight :-)
Wingman
Pretty much what I thought, but thanks for confirming. The petals inside dont seem to move much regardless of the tightness but I guess that the pigeons wont care if I get the pattern in the right place. The petals only need to move a little, 10 thousanths of an inch is one increment in 12 guage choking!
Wingman
Seems quite a decent idea, not sure how well they pattern but wonder they didnt really catch on outside of the USA?
figgy
I think more shooting related items are just lures cast by the companies fishing for our cash. Most of us have lots of chokes and stick with a couple we like.
saddler
Used similar in the past, plus have a similar Savage made dial choke unit. Seem to work ok.
impala59
Pattern paper and mark it where you like it. Cleaning can be a chore, I use an old suede cleaning fine wire brush, it seems to be able to root out all the plastic and lead that gets caught. Enjoy 😊!
