kiffy
hey folks, not been on here much recently as I've been so busy.. in fact recent months hunting wise have been awfull, whole wildfowl season I only fired 8 shots (and most of them missed!) but I did finally after an eight month wait get my FAC through for a 22LR so thought id share the gun with you guys. I know the 22LR isn't for everyone but I fell in love with the calibre after using my mates old BRNO which is a cracking gun and I know I will get plenty of use out of it in the field I decided to go for a Rimfire Magic build, their version of the Ruger 10/22 receiver but built to a much higher and tighter standard was to good not to go for... mix that with a decent barrel and winni subs and on paper I'm getting 5p sized groups at 80 yards so I'm VERY happy with it as I never thought id get grouping like that with a semi auto 22 so no worried on the bunnies I like the Houge stock I chose on the build but wanted something different so just bought a PWS T-rex stock from Black Diamond Customs and what a cracking stock. ambidextrous so perfect for me lefties like me and so much better quality than the Boyds I was going to get.. last Boyds I had the finish was rough and full of dust.. only downside which wasn't stock related was my safety, as I shoot left handed (I am right handed but poor sight in right eye so have always shot left) and the only left handed safety I could find was the power custom big head, instructions said some stock work may be needed.. fitted in the Hogue ok but the T-rex the stock needed filing.. a bum tightening moment on a couple of hundred quid's worth of stock but it worked out ok heres the spec and some photos Rimfire magic 10/22 receiver with BX trigger and Ruger internals. all polished and tuned Volquartsen 12 inch carbon fibre match barrel A-tec wave moderator Power Custom big head safety PWS T-rex laminate stock Sports Match mounts MTC Viper 4-16x50 scope Harris bipod for a 22LR it was bloody expensive and financially has killed me and is way over the top or hunting which is why I've got it but I don't regret a penny of it! the houge, which is a cracking stock (and for sale) compared to the PWS.. well happy with the upgrade heres the filing I had to do to fit the safety.. doesn't look to bad Edited May 21, 2017 by kiffy
Rimfireboy
My friend had one just like it but with the rubber stock, he foolishly sold it and then replaced it with a mossberg plinkster. That soon went as well....
kiffy
I cant think of any reason other than loosing my FAC which would make me part with it.. as I have it for hunting and will only use subs I did have concerns over cycling (something I had with an escort shotgun years ago) but other than two when breaking it in, I've not had a single issue and I've put over 400 rounds through it since
