Normark Filleting Knife, leather sheath with loop. 4" Blade signed Maitlium Finland - Good usable knife. £12 posted (signed for) SOLD TO FIGGY THANK YOU

"Boy Scout" type sheath knife, leather and brass hilt with aluminium pommel dates from the 60's. Blade 5" long with a serrated "safety" ridge along the back of the upper blade. Nice patina on the blade which hasn't been abused. Good leather scabbard.

The Normark filleting knives are damutznutz.

I have the large and the small (as your picture) and both have seen years of abuse (mainly in salt water) and they are still going strong.

Mine will not be for sale any time soon.

Good luck with the sale.

Thank you for you input and knowledge - Who is Maitlium?

I might have a Finish hunting knife coming my way this weekend.

Sorry, no idea what or who Maitlium is.

Even Google failed on that one.

Both my hunting knives are from Scandinavia - a Helle and a Fallkniven. Both are great knives.

You can't go wrong.

49 years old and like new almost:

Had one in the late seventies and through the eighties left it behind it when I left home, never to be seen again. Used to shave with mine after sharpening it.

Can't see it on the picture but I'm sure there is a small button riveted over from the tang at the end of the handle.

Just had a look, not on mine.

Just how things have changed. Years ago every boy scout had a sheath knife like that. I have one just like that one somewhere. Knives were carried everywhere, at school and out in the street. I even used to carry a Webley air pistol in an inside pocket of my school blaser like a secret service agent. But I didn't go round threatening people or shooting out the school Windows and stuff.
