motty
I have seen large numbers on barley and wheat in the last week of two. Hopefully will get amongst them soon. Good luck in your quest for birds.
masmiffy
Personally hate shooting over 'laid' barley or wheat. Unless its a big patch you lose too many birds in the standing stuff and the ones you do get are flyblown in mins!
Teal
You're right, it's a pain but it is a time a crop needs protecting. Had a good day on laid barley yesterday, tried to drop them in easier places, but not always possible and some losses are inevitable. Wouldn't take long to create more damage by searching for them. Windy here yesterday which helps with the blowflies.

mellors
Took a ride over yesterday afternoon after another call. They are everywhere so many patches on all 3 fields. Will have to show willing today although not keen I hate losing them. Just seems pointless but had this land many years.so many asking for shooting I could easily lose it.
