JRDS
After much deliberation I think I am going to sell my Disco and buy one of these, a recent road tax hike to £305 didn't help. Will be used for general off roading but nothing drastic just getting round the shoot and stubbles etc Pigeon shooting. Are there any engines to avoid, really want a DSG so the petrol 1.2 comes into play. Very good value at tye moment SH from Motorpoint presumably as the model is being replaced. Gordon R
Do you mean a Skoda Yeti?
B391
If you mean Yeti I think you can only get the 4x4 in diesel. I have a 16plate 2.0 diesel SCR 148 bhp DSG auto. I sold one of my Land Rovers and have not looked back, they are very capable and return close to 50mpg and I think it is about £130 RFL. This is the Euro 6 engine. The previous engine was 140 BHP. Not sure about tax or mpg.
JRDS
Yes sorry Skoda Yeti. Looking at Motorpoint all the Outdoors are either 1.6 or 2.0 Diesels, are all that Model 4 x 4 I am assuming so?
lampingman
I'm sure I've also seen a 1.8 petrol 4x4 yeti I have the 2 litre tdi good car so far very happy with it
tandytommo
My wife has got a Yeti Greenline Elegance. It's got the 1.6 diesel engine. I wanted her to get one with the more powerful 2.0, but after driving it quite a bit I have come to the conclusion that it's fine . You don't beat too many people away from the lights but it's great on fuel and only £30 a year to tax.
JRDS
Well the Disco has gone and I have ordered a 15 Plate Forest Green Yeti 170 BHP Elegance with the DSG box from Motorpoint in Newport should have it next week some time. washerboy
I had one as a loan car and mpg was around 40 Nice motor, basic unless you ticked the options list
JRDS
Well after a few weeks of use it has proved itself to be a fantastic Motor, been up wet stubbles and other off road places with no issues and it is on road tyres with 17k wear. Vey comfy, superb build quality, quick and very economical would highly recommend one without any negatives.
figgy
I'd avoid the 1.6 diesel and go 2.0 easier to work on and parts are easier to source of the shelf. Daughter has a 1.6 tdi vw bit under powered.
B391
Good choice of Yeti, my wife has the 150 bhp diesel DSG 4x4. Brilliant car, had Disco's and I think apart from the smaller load area it is every bit as good for day to day driving and gentle off road - tracks, fields etc. I am thinking of selling my Freelander and buying an Octavia Scout, bit larger than a Yeti which is better for my usage. billy13
Be careful of the scout if its second hand and done a lot of towing. Had one as a company car, 3 of us had them and we all had clutch and gearbox problems
