BSA Shaun
Been on a few different forums and most of them don't allow you to post or reply to the for sale section unless you have established yourself on the forum, i.e posted 'x' amount of posts. Was wondering if this would be a good idea to implement on here considering what has just occured. It gives the individual a time to build up a rappour with the other members and would hopefully allow the other members to trust them more fully, had they been posting on here a while rather than their first few posts being in the sale section. Just a thought, all opinions welcome.

dazzyboi
One thing i may suggest is a Trust feature, it is used on another forum which works very well. It works on the case that you have to fill out a profile form with all your contact details, you have to provide a valid e-mail address. Each time a transaction is made, the buyer/seller can add feedback to each persons trust account. Kind of works like e-bay feedback.

Problem is people abuse it if they don't like a certain member for whatever reason. Also you have to be careful when you decide on a set ammount of posts per member before they can sell as you will get some people that would say, make 200 posts of rubbish that helps nobody but get someone who has made 30 really good informative posts. FM Agreed, that's why posts in the welcome section for one should not be counted, caused you could just reply hello to everyone! If you start posting trash then an admin can be informed and your post count reset. It's a good simple solution IMO
SNAKEBITE
Why get hung up on post counts? Some people do look on it as a comptition, I know I have a fair few myself but just look at the content! Post counts do not earn respect, or do they? Post counts do not earn respect, or do they? Not really saying that. Surely you get the point I am making, I would rather buy a gun from someone like you, who has been established on the forum etc etc than a newbie with 1 post, even if they are genuine

Cranfield
Extract from the current Terms and Conditions for using the Buy, Sell, or Swap section. "General Advice: Use extra caution when entering into a deal with a member that has: * no post count * no established reputation here * never sold to anyone in our forum before * recently registered on the forum " Says it all really, only problem is that nobody reads it.
