steve_b_wales
The ends should undo and then the strap is threaded through the QD studs.
impala59
Reminds me of taking Air Cadets for weapon handling instruction courses for the L98/L85 (SA80 and straight pull manual version) I always seemed to get the 'sling' when it was time to re-qualify. (Everyone got a 'random' lesson to teach for re-qual) Even with my aide-memoire and pictures I always went away for an hour or so to practice so as not to have the fatal dropped rifle when undoing from the cross body position. Now, I would not have a clue!
hodge911
The ends should undo and then the strap is threaded through the QD studs. the ends are not "done up" to undo mate all 3 ends are just there with the end folded over .......................... if that makes sense
saddler
Loop the main part through the closed end

I had a sling once that was stitched together where the end went through the loop. I cut the stitching, threaded the strap through the stud, then glued it back together. It's lasted years. mick miller
I think you will find that you need to slide the buckle up the strap until you have a longer tail. Also feed the strap through the buckle in a way that creates a big fat loop. Take the tail end and pass through your the loop on your qd stud. Double it back and feed it back through the buckle underneath the strap that is there. Adjust tension and length to suit then pull tight.
