Powder availability

Recommended Posts

It's due to final implementation of the EU regulations REACH.

Some comply a lot do not, the shops can sell any they have in stock but no new stock can be imported.

I am sure somebody will be long with better information as their is a list of the ones that do not comply like Varget.

All Hogden powders, along with IMR (all bar the new fully compliant Enduron and shotgun powders) won't be imported after June 2018 and this includes popular powders such as Varget and H4350. There's still loads of compliant powders, including all European made powders and some Alliant branded powders (such as Reloader 17) which are just re-branded Reload Swiss made by Nitrochemie. There's also powders sold by Vhitavouri and Ramshot, all which comply as well as some not yet tested which may yet be found compliant suvh as CFE223. You can still buy all of these now and will be able to buy them after July 2018, but suppliers won't be able to import any more following then. There'll be no shortage of suitable alternatives to Hogdon and IMR for most people.

That's what I read.(somewhere) At the moment I use H4198 and H4895 for two of my calibers and Vit450 for another. I'm thinking of buying 2 tubes each of the Hodgdon brand, which with what I have already, and the amount I shoot, will last me for at least 18 months or more.
