matgriff
Not having held my SGC for too long, I have a basic question. I've bought two guns in the last 12 months, both times the seller filled in section 2 on my certificate with the gun details plus their own personal details. Both times I have also recorded the transaction on Staffs firearms licencing website, where you inform them of a transfer or sale (alternative to doing it by post) and both times I have received an acknowledgement email..... On my SGC it has a section that lists "guns held on the certificate" when does this get completed/updated ? Is it just when you renew your ticket and they add the guns that were previously listed in section 2 (assuming you haven't sold them since then) Sorry if this is a simple question. Thanks Mat
mossy835
when you renew your licence, they put the guns on it, you put on the renewal forms.on the new licence.
matgriff
OK thanks, so basically I do nothing more than use section 2 when I buy a new gun and register it online ? On renewal, my cert will come back with guns registered to me printed on it and a new blank section 2 ? Thanks Mat

washerboy
Just my renewal papers and wondered why I have to list the guns I own? Surely they should know that already!
scotslad
The renewal papers I done where all blank so u have to fill them out with the guns/serial numbers. They'll only add them if /when u send ur ticket in, so change of address/renewal, so in most cases will be 5 years before there printed on ur ticket

Guest
They will want your list to match there list . The sgc you keep is your record which should match there record when you renew Or do they ever do spot checks
The Mighty Prawn
In my experience you send your licence in, it comes back with guns missing, you send it back, they return it with the missing guns added but your name has changed, you send it back... four thousand licences later you get one with all your details correct Good old West Mercia!
