Whitebridges
I've been tasked with shooting a goose from a Norfolk marsh this Christmas and would welcome opinions on a good cartridge to use. I will be shooting a Beretta A400 Xtreme Synthetic with 3 and a half inch chambers. I have lost touch with "non toxic" options these days. I hope I won't have to use more than a box of 25 so won't get to excited about the expense of something good. Particularly interested in your views on shot size. Thanks for your help gents. lancer425
Look up a box of plain old winchester Drylock 44 grams in BBs , they are a reasonable patterning load and have enough clout in BBs to be effective on body shots at 50 or so yards you should be able to get a result with the drylock. You could do as good with other ammo Mamoths for example but Drylocks come in BBs and i think for a one stab at a decent pattern it offers you the best chance just throwing ammo in your gun and going for it. Go for the mod choke on the stock choke tubes and BBs in the 12s again you could run more choke but with mod you will be ok .

motty
You can find Mammoths locally, I'm sure. You can get them in BB or 1s (42gm). They should cost you under 70p a pop. These will easily be good for 50 yards. I have only shot 6 geese this season, but 5 have been shot with steel.
