pigeon controller
Started out in the rain at 08.00 with a request for some fresh pigeons, so drove out to the farm we shot last week, game shooting today just watched the pigeons going in on the rape!!! We drove to the next farm to find 200/300 sitting in the trees around the rape , watched it for thirty minutes nothing dropping in, but could not leave a flock like that as we needed birds, spoke to the farmer and had the OK so walked down to the rape and set up magnet and ten birds on cradles above the rape. Waited for the first bird to come in, dropped that one and all the rest just lifted and left the farm. Waited for an hour for them to return, nothing , so packed up and drove to another farm and watched a weak flightline along a hedge to a turnip field next to a large wood. As we drove to the turnip field approx 100 birds lifted out of the remaining stubble as it had been direct drilled. So the plan was to set up on the edge of the wood and shoot the turnips and as it got dark shoot any birds coming to roost. The game shoot on the first farm was sending birds to us. We had set up at 12.00 and shot till 16.30 and it was dark as we took the picture not checking until I returned home to find it blurred, but you get the jist. We ended the day with fortynine pigeons. yickdaz
nothing wrong with that, a lot of effort went into it as usual, I had a rare day shooting pheasant partridge and duck and didn't see a pigeon all day were I was shooting
