Farmboy91
Morning all, Was wondering if any of you could help me put a rough date on these carts. They were my great grandads and he died early nineties so Im guessing the shiny boxed ones have got to be at least 25 years old. Haven't got any intention of using them I just like the boxes. Thanks all.
busbiter
The packing code on the inner flap of the older box suggests they were packed on 10th February 1960 (if you read it as 12I10I) or 10th May 1963 (if you read it as 12L10L) The plastic case fourten was loaded in France so probably late 70's (after when there was an explosion at the eley factory when ever that was, eley were produced in France for a while) and the Fourlong plastic case probably from the 80's as loaded in England Hope that helps! steve_b_wales
I've got a few boxes of the same, which I bought mid 1970's.

That's brilliant info, thanks mate. Do either of you know if there worth anything? Not expecting to be able to retire on them lol just the equivalent box is about £6.50 at my local rfd
Rimfireboy
I remember buying the ones in the yellow and black box late seventies-early eighties. If they’re full boxes, I would think you’re not far off the value at £6:50? In fact, I think I’ve still got a box of the magnum 3inch in the yellow and black box. Farmboy91
Yeah the later two of the boxes are full, the middle one has a got a handful in and the old box only has 3 in, no.5 shot I think they are. Pretty sure I remember him having 2 single barrel hammer guns, one of which he'd welded some sort of repair himself on.
redial
Nice to see, takes me back to my first gun. My uncle used to buy me a box of Eley Fourten or Fourlong for Christmas. Single barrel Breda mid 70,s those were the days.
