jimcorbett
Just bought a 20 bore sxs Ugartechea made or proofed in 1976. It is a non ejector with 28in barrels. Can anyone tell me how to find out what model it is please? Thanks. Jim
mudpatten
Google Ugartechea shot guns, go to images and see if you can find one that looks like yours. Click on the pic and, with a bit of luck it`ll tell you what model it is.
Gunman
I dont if they did "models" in the sense of a series of guns . Ugatachea's were solid no nonsense guns that were largely " bullet proof" .They were never expensive and became over shadowed by the AyA and Sable brands .Provided its not been abused then it should give years of service with a little regular maintenance . jimcorbett
Thanks I agree. They did various models as I have Shooting Times from the 1970s with adverts for them but they don't show details of the models themselves.
matone
Model 30 & Model 40 were the mainstay apparently but Spanish makers seem to have made whatever the buyer was prepared to pay for ,at any pricepoint.

JohnfromUK
I think Parker Hale were probably the main importer at that time.
jimcorbett
Thanks all for your thoughts. My gun doesn't show on the link posted by Button as I believe these are later models. My 1970s Shooting Times adverts show Milbro as the suppliers although I think Parker Hale were later. Models I have seen on the internet include 30 and 40 and in many of the 1970s adverts a Model 1000 was on sale. I will keep researching! jimcorbett
Thanks JohnfromUK for your info. My gun is like the 601 but has carved fence balls and is 1976 so 10 years or so before your adverts. Thanks again!
