Guest cookoff013
is it worth me investing in some proofing of fibre wadded shells with these in? i`ve not used them before, and whats the general consensus now that plastic is taboo? i think i`m going to have a go with some "evowads" maybe bismuth, itx or power shot, i`ve aquired some fibre shotcups and i`m not too sure slipping plastic in there would make the package attractive. are the fibre shotcups powerhot safe? are placky gas seals the tool of the devil?https://www.claygame.co.uk/12ga-gualandi-gas-seals-65mm-pd109
wymberley
Rottweil use them in their fibre loads.
TIGHTCHOKE
But if you use a plastic obturator or any other element you just reverse all the good gained from using a fibre wad.
Dave at kelton
I tried these many years ago in 10 bore and having got quite a kick sent off for proof testing. Proof house told me they generated pressures equivalent to a proof load and hence the recommended load I had then was way too powerful. The point is use them only with a recommended load which Claygame must be able to let you have. If you use a standard felt wad load as I naively did you may be asking for trouble. I agree with the previous comment that it negates the benefit of using a felt wad in which case why not use a standard plastic cup. Good luck. Continental Shooter
are you not using 'plastic' gas seals?
Perazzishot
many fibre wads factory loads have a plastic gas seal disc, many are not declared on the boxes. Mulgrave Estate would cut open cartridges if any doubt, and you were banned from using them if they had aplastic disc.
