Ricko
Hi Was reading a chapter in one of Mayle's books on Provence, he mentions local hunters using a Chevrotine shot cartridge to hunt wild boar. When I googled the word it showed shot that was strung on brass wire and 9 items of shot in each cartridge. Anybody ever come across this? What shot size equivalent is this in the uk? Cheers

Looking at pics online it would kep the pattern over a greater distance. Edited August 2, 2018 by figgy

dipper
When I started shooting in my early teens I read most of the early books on shooting and reloading.Yes alongside buffering cartridges with plain flour not recamended .i made a cartridge loadad with9 pellets joined together by thread .It was devastating but something I would not recommend in fact highly illegal .Dipper. Ricko
I suppose they would be equivalent to 00 buck, LG or similar. The brass wire would help keep the pattern together for greater impact. You'd want a clean kill with something like a wild boar. Strange set up.
