Libertyandlivelihood
Please give me some ideas on a good scope for my .17hmr Budget is only £150 though! Thanks
Peter_HMR
Some people on here think very highly of nikko sterling not sure if they are in that price range though. I have a Hawke Target 6-24x50 on mine does the job very nicely think it cost 115 new
markm
In the same position as you mate, narrowed it down to - 1) Hawke Varmant II 4 - 32 (or something like that) x 44 2) Leupold (cheapest model) 4 - 9 x 40 Both under £200 and I can get them both for a similar price, do I go for magnification or brand? pin
I've just been through this and settled on a Nikko Sterling Platinum NightEater 6-24x56 from Optics Warehouse. £140 delivered with sidewheel and sunshade thrown in. I'm over the moon with it, it's only fractionally more than the hawke it replaced and it's a different world. Axe has one and rates it, as does Jerry (sandersj89). It does eat batteries though compared to my Hawke on my AA410 air rifle. Jerry
pin
Personally I find the IL function a total gimmick, just so happens either they don't sell a scope of that spec without the IL function, or optics warehouse don't list them

Must remember to turn it off though! Jerry
pin
I think it very much depends on the individual eye looking at it, when I turn it on, even slightly it confuses my eye and causes me to loose focus.

Dirty Harry
I got a Simmons WTC 6.5-20x50 from the states for £50. If you know anyone out there you could try getting one sent to them via any of the US websites. Harry
