walshie
My son is toying with buying a 1959 Series 2 Land Rover that is for sale up the road from us for £4000. I know nothing about Land Rovers, except this seems to be very cheap for a S2 even though it's a pickup. It wouldn't be for daily use, just to tinker with and drive at weekends. Worth a punt or psychiatric help required?

ShootingEgg
Ibe just done this on a 2a, same price is a runner and in good nic for its age. If its close enough, go take a look, check the chassis and general condition etc. Could be a good investment for him.
countryman
You say it's a pick up, is it a lwb 109 or a swb 88, the swb land rovers are more desirable and generally more money. As said check chassis, bulkhead these parts can be terminal if rusted badly. I always preferred the old two and quarter petrol engine, original Diesel engines were very low powered. bluesj
Don't know about prices the last 2a I bought was £400. Depending on how much tinkering he wants to do a rotten chassis or bulkhead is not the end of the world just a price negotiation point
ShootingEgg
I would give it a check over, you might be buying a good solid 88 that just needs some tlc.
