webber
Hm, as a boy scout for many years I should have remembered that, shame on me! To answer the question, probably the same as last year, nothing! Wonder if I can wangle a shoot? Funny how the Irish, Welsh and Scots celebrate their national saints day, but the English seem to stop at flying the flag on the town hall and church, and possibly a parade for the scouts and guides. webber
tiercel
The reason we celabrate our Saints day is we have a national identity. We are Welsh, Irish, and Scottish, each with our own lanuage and pride.

ernyha
I hear that our George has just got himself another Dragon,s head to nail to his trophy wall from Twickers.
Cranfield
ernyah, it was a close thing though, a bit like the old games against Wales. That Simon Jones was a more than useful kicker, I think if he hadn,t missed the 5 points he did, when he did, things might have been different. The pity about St George,s Day, is that the flag has been hijacked by football hooligans and the British National Party. Also, England is overrun with the Welsh, Irish and Scots who love their Countries so much, they have to live here.
webber
Cranfield Only political correctnes prevented me from making the same observation. I have tyravelled to many different parts of the world, some for business, some for pleasure. There is however an observation that I have made. No matter where you go in the world, you will always find, a mick, a jock, a scouser and a bottle of coke. The micks always celebrate St. Patricks day, The jocks Burns night, and you can guarantee that the scouser will have a scam on the go. Its being different that makes life so intersting. webber

Fisherman Mike
I take it you have never been to Edinburgh I went once it was full of English students and Japanese men with cameras... One asked me for directions to Ann Hathaways cottage ( Honest ) I told him he was 300 miles in the wrong direction where apon he bowed about 100 times and smiled whispering something in japanese ( probably Strupid prillock !!) Anyway anybody who knows anything about ancient English History will be aware that George did not slay a dragon it was a mythical Welsh beast the result of a illicit union between a welsh farmer and a Black faced ewe. I understand that this is a common beast and the main reason the countries were segregated by the Severn bridge. FM
berettaboy
If you all feel so strongly that the union jack or cross of St George has been hijacked. Then you might want to support this campaign. reflag I don't by the way
Wookie
April 23rd? That's the day I walk out of the office that has been the bane of my life for the last year. I think I might get _really_ (and I mean REALLY) badly drunk that night. Wookie
