fiiish1987
Join the club! I started my job in Feb this year. I'm still on Emergency tax with 40% deducted each month! They claimed they hadn't received my P45 so I've sent of a photocopy of my half of the p45 plus a p46 and I'm still on the same tax code losing nearly half of my earnings! Bunch of incompitant pancake throwing monkeys couldn't give a rats about what they've done wrong the theiving chimpoids!

dunganick
the only way ive found to deal with the tax man is to phone up and talk to them, i tried sending them stuff and it never got through, emails, scans, fax and phone calls. digger
I got spanked for £2500 in my last year of being self employed, called in the bailiffs etc and no chance to pay it off in installments despite my only receiving one letter. Paid it off a couple of months ago and now after a year of being on the cards have got a bill for £1.96. Decided to let them send the bailiffs round again and give him a cheque for £1.97. Dont care about my credit rating, they pay for his call if he collects, not me, and then them swines will owe me
Wookie
reminds me of when I was self employed. The beancounter messed up and didn't notice that my tactic of "pay myself every 28 days" would eventually mean I got paid twice in one month. I got a letter from the VAT man wanting money and a lette from the tax man wanting about 7.5k. I was not a happy man. Managed to pay the VAT man first, then the tax man, then myself last. It was a very lean quarter. All my accountant could say was "Sorry, he's left and we didn't pick up on it". Swines. Paid myself on the 28th of the month from then on. Even after I went PAYE (got a proper job) it took them 5 years of me telling them I was PAYE to actually take me off the register for doing tax returns. I used to dread the end of the year. I hate paperwork.
sheene7
When i ran my own business, got home one friday night to find a note from the baliffs saying they had called to seize goods to the value of £1200.I phoned the collection office asking them what the bloody hell this was about. They said that they had sent me a bill and i had not paid, i pointed out in no uncertain terms that i had never seen a bill ,but i would send them a cheque that night first class and i would be phoning on monday morning to make sure they had got it. The following friday, lo and behold the bill arrives on my doorstep . I sold my business off 3 years ago and went to work for a company, I'm still getting letters from them saying that i have'nt paid my employers ni contributions for last year and threatening me with legal action, the fact that i've not employed anybody for over 3 years seems to have escaped their attention If i had run my business as ineptly as that bunch of clowns run the tax office, i would have been bankrupt within a fortnight.
