John_R
This plant grows like weeds in the back garden. In a few spots I leave it alone. The leaves smell like coriander when crushed. Would anyone tell me what it is? And this is the tree I struggle to ID.

Walker570
Yep, tree looks like a hornbeam. You are in the right location as well as the tree spread over he channel and the main woods of hornbeam are in the south east.
John_R
I did wonder about Hornbeam, thank you. I showed the plant to my elderly mother, who even with failing sight spotted the geranium origin. I now realise the Herb Robert ID fits. Thank you. John_R
The tree is in Pinner Memorial Park. That is a lovely little urban park, where I was visiting the Heath Robinson Museum. Edited May 4, 2019 by John_R

JDog, Can I ask whether that's related to the hardy geranium (cranesbill) species as that's what I thought it was ? OB
JDog
Those wild geraniums or their derivatives are all very similar.

Had I bothered to google Herb Robert I would have found out, but took the easy option and posted here, knowing that I'd receive your prompt reply. Thanks, OB
