fatchap
My forge/foundry has served me well, Home made, not very pretty but does the job, Yes the surrounding areas have caught fire more than once and the stupid place I decided to keep the tongs and ladle does cause them to reach temperatures that cause third degree burns when you grab them. But I am looking at either making a new all sing all dancing forge/foundry or buying one I saw in the bay. Its tall enough to accomodate a crucible so will melt brass/Ally but its 385 quid. Just when I think I've made me mind up, I get to thinking that mine is ok, still works etc etc and I'm back to square one again. 385 quid is a bit stout but its a very good looking sturdy gas forge. Mine is what I call a hybrid, gas and anthracite, gets extremely hot. Help me out here, keep what I've got after all it works its just ugly and dangerous, make one or buy one.? TIGHTCHOKE
Build to your specification, you'll get more enjoyment out of it that way.

figgy
Have you looked at Alex Steele when he built a new forge. You may adapt his design to your requirements.

figgy
Nobodyimportant I liked him when in the UK and he was learning. Got too much into selling his merchandise and just spending weeks making silly sword's. Soon as he left UK to set up in America I stopped watching him.
