JTaylor91
Does anybody have experience of umbilical hernias? We were hoping that it would heal up on its own but seems that it’s not going to happen now she’s 4 months old. Is it worth having it fixed when she’s spayed? figgy
My wife little dog has had one all his life, 12 years old and it's never bothered him. Ask your vet when you take her in.
Lloyd90
Looks very small, unlikely to cause bother, is any intestine or similar poking out from it ever? I had another pup that had one, we would massage it very frequently and supposedly they can close up on their own but you might be past that. If you are having surgery done anyway it might be worth looking into but I wouldn't be looking to get it done if it was very minor and not causing an issue. Really best to ask a vet that you trust. London Best
My lab bitch has a small one. She will be three in November. It has never bothered her and she ignores it completely. Worked her very hard last season picking up on twenty plus days between 250 - 350+. The vets said to leave it when she was small and they would do it when I took her in to be spayed. That won’t happen unless there is a emergency.
JTaylor91
Cheers for the advice all. If the vet can do it as part of the spay then may as well get it done.
Paul in North Lincs.
Shouldn't cause a problem to be honest
