Lloyd90
Book? Do you mean the magazine? What dog do you have and what do you want to train it for? Better stuff out there for training.

Do you want the dog to hunt out birds? Or just be steady and retrieve them? Joe Irving: Gundogs, their learning chain, would be a good place to start. There are several retriever specific books worth a look, although traditionally labs aren't used for flushing all that much so other books may be better. sam triple
Ok I do a bit pigeon shooting so the dog will be in the hide with me , walked up pheasant days and just starting a bit of wildfowling so the dog will be used to retrieve
Dave at kelton
Start with the book gundog sense and sensibility by Wilson Stevens. Join the forum Gundog training tips. Other than that there are some good you tube videos but at the start you just need to let the dog have their puppyhood and want to be with you. Don’t try to do too much too soon, the mistake all novices make. good luck
Yellow Bear
Also look at the puppy training info from Adrian Slater.
Lloyd90
Join a club I would, go along and get involved and see what the end result should be Also just be careful about letting the dog do too much free hunting.

Would definitely recommend Adrian’s DVDs, I travel to see him a few times a year from Norfolk up to his near liverpoool.
