As it's FAC, it wouldn't be illegal. Whether it can be done is another thing. What power is it now?

Ultrastu
You can set it at what ever u like its a fac . BUT .there will be a natural limit to the guns ability. In terms of air capacity and valving and hammer weight /tension . Also what u set it at will have a baring on the pellet u use .. Its no good having a 30 fpe .22 and using 13.4 grn pellets (they will go around 1000 fps and be unstable) Like wise i wouldnt run 25 grn pellets at 700 fps (thats about 27 fpe ) Obviously the more muzzle energy /velocity u get from a pellet the more air u will us.its usually an exponential curve so say you increase your muzzle energy from 25 fpe to 30 fpe and at 25 fpe u were getting 40 shots .you would expect for the energy increase to reduce your shot count to maybe 35 shots. Nope - your gonna drop to around 25 shots as to get that extra energy you use a lot more air . Obviously if you have a gun with a big tank dropping from say 100 to 70 shots might not be an issue .but to fall below my personal min shot count of 30 on a smaller gun might be too far . 6 minutes ago, ladyjack said: It was supposed to be 28,but its 23,its a webley fx 2000 So i take it you have chronoed it across it fill pressure ? Starting at 230bar ? Down to 120 bar ? . This should show you the energy curve and hence acceptable shot count lower energy at 230 bar.highest around 170 and low again at 120 bar . Hope fully with a energy spread over this range of about 1.5 fpe .
Ultrastu
So at what pressure is the gun making 23 fpe and with which pellet as this makes a big difference
ladyjack
When the gun shop replaced seals, they said it was doing 23ftl s,that's all I know, we to fac air rifles
GingerCat
Is it regged? How many shots do you get per fill now? And is that enough?
Ultrastu
Ok .i shoot a .22 fac at 23 fpe And i use falcon acc plus pellets at 13.4 grns .the velocity is around 870 fps .which is perfect and stable. They also kill well as they tend not to over penetrate on birds and rabbits . Maybe give a tin a try before you go turning the power up .they are excellent pellets

Ultrastu
23 fpe is still a lot of grunt . X2 the legal limit for sub 12 guns . Find some lighter pellets round head pellets and zero at 40 yds . U could try Falcon accuracy plus 13.4 grn Bisley lrg 14 grn Crosman premier 14.3 grn H+n ftt 14.6 grn Jsb express14.3 grn Would be top of my list .
