strimmer_13
What's people's thoughts on what they use for decking, just made a little corner up and dont want it rotting out by next winter. Its a stupid question but as ive never had decking before was wondering what treatment would be best. Also fast drying due to the weather lately. Thanks Matt
Ultrastu
Best thing for decking is get loads of ventilation under it and have a fall on it so water doesnt sit there .

Its 2000x2000 so 2 vents be enough? It's pretty much made it air tight in case of Mr rat, also butted up against a wall and panel fence Edited January 6, 2020 by strimmer_13

weebster
Best to have a gap between the decking and wall....unless its at least 2-3 bricks under the dpc or you could end up with damp, especially if water runs to the wall rather than away from it. figgy
I use car engine oil on all my external wood that's either out of sight or fences. Couple of good coats works wonders.
