Chiller Pigeons

just wondering how long pigeons will keep for in a chiller?

Mine are in very good condition in a fridge after a couple of weeks. I have had meatvstay fresh in the fridge for up to a month, still in the feather.

I've just eaten a pair that were in the fridge for over 2 days.

I'm still alive.

I have 25 which I had for decoys in the fridge outside, they are now about 6 weeks dead but everytime I open the fridge they try to run out, (trying to escape in liquid form), must warn the bin men next week, might be safer to freeze them before placing them in the bin .

I personally would freeze them and then  dig a hole and bury them, or at least bury them as they are.

I would check the operation of your fridge!

Hi Motty, Your probably right, its old, rusty and only works when it feels like it, much like me im sorry to say, I usually only keep dead birds for decoys about 3 to 4 weeks, after being pegged out in the sun for 5 or 6 hours at a time , twice a week and then rechilled they soon start to stink, again a bit like me, any way these should have been disposed of some time ago, so its on the list along with getting the fridge and freezers cleaned out and shut down until they let us out again. 👍
