moor man
Was out yesterday (S.Devon)and noticed that the new fern growth about 12" was wilting heavily. I just assumed it had been sprayed but landowner says no, its an organic farm apparently? Puzzling. Wish id taken some photos. Anyone noticed the same? Lloyd90
How do ferns spread? Can you plant them?
twenty
8 hours ago, Lloyd90 said: How do ferns spread? Can you plant them? I think they spread by underground root systems, and spores,......you can get them from garden centres, and they will take, (keep well watered, and out of direct afternoon sun). Taken from the wild (maybe illegal),......it is hard to re-create their original conditions, eg....Light/ shade, soil condition, moisture..........although I have re-planted some in tubs and they have taken. All the best.
bumpy22
Soon die back. Our pens are full of them through the summer. As soon as birds Go down they seem to die back rapidly
