john faul
hi my shooting buddy has a .22 hornet i lamped along with him last winter and it was good on foxes out to about 180 yards it is a good caliber to moderate and certainly has lots of power it is a good caliber in my eyes and the only thing i have against it is the price of ammo hope this helpes regards john
Frank
Likewise, the ammo price on it is a bit much, but i have allways had a soft spot for the caliber, i used it for many years, before i had the .223 Frank.

tikkamark
my flo said i could have a hornet but i went for the .17hmr. The hornet would probably be a better fox rifle than the hmr though imho
dunganick
if you have a proper .224 centerfire then its a nice little toy, as to be honest its not up to the same jobs as the .222 and .223, however its is good for 180yards on foxes, and with some handloading (PM me for a nice little handload) it will hold sub 1" at 100 yards. Not nice to reload however, very easy to over lube and dent the necks and also a limited choice in the guns it is avalible in.
casts_by_fly
plus if you are a hand loader, you can load a 223 to do anything the hornet can do too.
