Houseplant
My first kingfish on the spear. I'll save you the details, but it was a lucky encounter and an epic battle followed. Fish nearly got away a few times and it pushed my limits of breath holding. There was a lot of blood in the water and while all this was going on, I was worried the sharks would turn up. Definitely amateur hour underwater! Also caught a crayfish (lobster), so a great day all round.
moor man
Nice one! Good feed there for a few meals. Whereabouts was that? Did some fishing up north, Bay of Islands some time ago, loved it 😁
Houseplant
Thanks. It was at the Hen & Chicks (Islands). Not too far south of the Bay of Islands. I did some fishing in South Devon some time ago. Small world!
mel b3
I'm normally very envious of your fishing exploits, but , when I read things like , breath holding , blood in the water , sharks , not so much 😢.

powler
Good size fish, top job. Done some spear fishing out in Oz in the 90's but never anything that big, know what you mean about sharks turning up always in the back of you mind especially as the one bay we used to frequent was know as shark bay by the locals. Houseplant
Cheers powler. Not being top of the food chain certainly focuses the mind! As an aside, every Shark's Bay I've visited in the world doesn't have sharks, except the one in Australia 😂
