moses
I went pigeon shooting on Saturday and after about 75 cartridges this happened, http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z94/mos.../DSC_0059-1.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z94/mos.../DSC_0057-1.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z94/mos...35/DSC_0055.jpg I bought the gun from Ladds of Crediton at the end of July and this is the 2nd time I have used it. I can't think what could have caused this, does anybody have any Ideas? Could anyone tell me what can be done to fix it? Do you think I should go back to Ladds? Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance Moses
njc110381
I'd take it back and see what they can do. I'm not sure what warranty you get on a second hand gun (it is second hand right?) but they should help you out and at least fix it cheaply, if not free. How much was the gun, and what general condition is it in?

Yorkshire Wildfowler
Take it back let em see it it looks like theres been a small crack and over oiling over the years Good Luck
tulkyuk
Take it back to em and make the buggars fix it for you, it has been cracked for quite some time and had plenty of oil in it over the years, you have only used it twice so its not your fault . if it gets any worse you may well be on your way to hospital or even the morgue so be very careful mate. it could also do with some oil and a good cleaning in those barrels too!! the last engineer
as said the crack has been there fore a long time, its easily fixed though, take it back have them do it, take away the worry, they may fit a small pin and glue it, the wood glues used nowadays are far superior to the strength of the grain. malkiserow
Certainly take it back straight away. I would seriously consider getting your money back/change of gun.... From the pictures it looks massively over oiled. When that happens the wood becomes weak and spongy. Chances are you will get more problems. It it was not overoiled and the pictures are not clear on this point then it may be easy to reglue. Malk

Thanks in advance Moses I am amazed that a reputable gun shop such as Ladds would sell a gun with chambers as rusty as those! The wood looks more dirty than oil stained. As already said, it would be an easy fix.
SPARKIE
oh there barrels are they thought they were too rusty drain pipes i hope ya never paid a lot for it in that condition ive seen guns like that at gun shops before around the ?100 mark and they never usually get much warrenty as its a sold as seen gun catch ma drift looks like the crack been there a while tho
berettaman1
looks like the wood has been cracked for a long time, more worrying to me is what are the barrels like? if they are as bad as the chambers then in all probability they are pitted and out of proof, I am supprised you purchased it in that condition, if that was mine I would ask for a refund. I agree, if you paid good money for it ask for a refund or at least a full credit against another gun. If you keep it and the time comes to sell it a purchaser will probably knock you down in price because of the repair. Any good gunsmith would have seen the damage and a reputable shop would not have sold it in need of an obvious repair. Good luck with it and dont leave it long before taking it back. moses
I spoke to Ladds today and they have asked me to send it back and they will have a look at it. Not a problem for them to fix it they said, I'm sending it back on Thursday and hopefully it will be sorted out soon. I spent ages cleaning it yesterday, used the brass brush and then a hole box of patches more or less, finished off with the mop and thats running through clean now. I did'nt realise how bad it was until I took those pictures with the flash! Moses
