But could someone expalin why the event is held in France with the exceptions of a couple of games in wales in scotland ? Jonno Basiclly when the IRB was having their voting session in 2003 to decide who would be host nation, the crafty frogs did a deal and promised to let Scotland and Wales have some games played in their stadiums so as to secure votes for France's bid. 08shooter
cant wait but i have one thing to say england wont have the cup back. sad to say ireland either i think france will be hard to topple with the home advantage
digger
England are 33/1 for good reason. Like the look of South Frica as dark horses. Typical Celts siding with the French though, not big enough to host it themselves so get a tiny bit of the action from the country they have sent mercaneries to over history. Zenophobic ? Moi ? Poacher
Its going to be one of the tri-nations seef efrica is a good bet, NZ are pretty unstoppable, but the frogs can be dangerous on home territory.
digger
Verminshooter, no offence intended. The irish curling team could beat the English rugby team I agree. I retract the celt comment even though it was not aimed at you.

Stu S
Fantasy Rugby are running a rugby world cup fantasy league, i'm already registered and have chosen my team, and it's free too! As far as how the world cup will evolve, i think as follows (from the knock out stages only) Semi's Australia Vs England France Vs Italy South Africa Vs Fiji New Zealand Vs Argentina Quarter's England Vs New Zealand South Africa Vs France Final New Zealand Vs South Africa Winners New Zealand
Keith
I more or less agree with Stuart - New Zealand to win, but I fear England won't get past Australia in the semis. They have only two fly halves and Wilkinson is now injured - Barkley in for at least first game. if he's injured you have to use Catt or farrell - great choice. And apart from Lewsey who's being played on the wing, no specialist full-back. I can only see France or South Africa having a chance of beating the All Blacks. henry d
......... Wilkinson is now injured - Barkley in for at least first game............ Don`t believe all you read in the press, although I agree with your final analysis for NZ winning, but England will have to pull out all the stops against OZ to stand a chance...........................did I really just say that, I must need a lie down..............Nurse!!! medication....now !!!!! I'm just a follower of the egg shaped ball! I agree that England won't reach the final, but i think the psychological damage of losing the last world cup to england in their back garden will be horrendous for australia, and i think we'll edge it in a tight and close match. But if i had to pick my England team it would be as follows: 1 Sheridan (Sale) 2 Chuter (Leicester) 3 Vickery © (Wasps) 4 Shaw (Wasps) 5 Kay (Leicester) 6 Moody (Leicester) 7 Rees (Wasps) 8 Easter (Quins) 9 Perry (Brizzzzzzol) 10 Wilkinson (Newcastle) 11 Robinson (used to be Sale) 12 Catt (Exiles) 13 Hipkiss (Leicester) 14 Cueto (Sale) 15 Lewsey (Wasps) 16 Regan (Brizzzzzzzol) 17 Stevens (Bath) 18 Corry (Leicester) 19 Worsley (Wasps) 20 Wigglesworth (Sale) 21 Barkley (Bath) 22 Tait (Newcastle) Please note: not even a spot on the bench for that irritating arrogant dog-leg (Dallaglio). There, thats my tuppence worth!
deadeye ive
IMO Martin Johnson's leadership on the field and not Clive woodwoods managerial skills made England so successful ....Let's face it look at CW's lions ventre down under using the same managerial OTT structure .He was outclassed by Henry in every departement . England will need to pull something out of the hat to beat SA in the group stages but remember what the mis firing French did to the favourite's NZ in the 1999 WC ........Completely unexpected and I fancy them to be finalist this year if they get a good start.
