MWildfowler
Hi, this may seem obvious but what is a nitro proof gun?
strimmer_13
Basically it's been overloaded and safe for modern smokeless powders
MWildfowler
So will all modern shotguns be nitro proof? @strimmer_13
strimmer_13
Pretty much all should be. I don't think some are marked (foreign), 99% of imported would of gone through proof testing. Also I understand you can shoot blackpowder through a nitro proof gun but not the other way around.
MWildfowler
Would you happen to know if an Armsan A612 will be nitro proofed? @strimmer_13

Nitro proof means it is designed to handle modern nitro cartridges....lead or standard pressure steel which put out more pressure than old black powder cartridges. (Which is good).
London Best
Nitro proof has been compulsory for guns sold in the U.K. for a hundred years. Neglect or alteration can render a gun out of proof.
