dicko
Today i went to use my air rifle and it is very low on power so much so the pellet gets stuck at the top of the barrel or will only shoot out about 5 feet.It is holding air and has stayed on 180 bar since the last time i used it.Has anyone got any ideas or should i take it to a gunsmith when i can. Many thanks Lee
Ultrastu
sounds like an issue with the hammer spring .it could have snapped or the hammer is sticking somehow . Or more likely your o ring on the pellet probe as failed and your blowing air out of the mag slot .

Hello, if you have had pellets jam in barrel and got out with a rod from muzzle the pellet skirt can damage breach seal?
bruno22rf
Eay to check the breach seal - load a pellet into the breach (directly - no magazine) then close the bolt, sprinkle Talcum powder around the breach area then fire the gun in a safe direction - if your face turns white then the breach seal is rogered. dicko
Just a quick update i changed the breech seal and managed to get pellets leaving the barrel, the next step was removing the hammer and spring and found the hammer/striker was stuck on the guide.A quick clean up with Autosol and brake cleaner and all is good.Once again many thanks for the help. bruno22rf
Before you blow your trumpet too loud stu - the S400 probe doesn't have an O ring, just the breach seal 🙃.

Ultrastu
So the breach seal set into the barrel that the probe and pellet pushes through isnt an oring ? What is it then ? Photo of oring being put into an s400 by an air arms service employee .🙄 To replace the damaged breach seal oring . bruno22rf
I knew you would bite - " your O ring ON the pellet probe" - the pellet probe has no O ring on it (as indeed some do) - it simply has a breach seal, the only O ring ON the probe is at the rear of the action.
