henry d
I have been looking at a variety of sites and it looks like twin locks near the bottom interior corner of the door seems to be the dogs. Has anyone fitted them and how did you get on? Any problems apart from if you lose the keys?
JohnfromUK
I have fitted some similar to these -https://www.locksonline.co.uk/Garage-Door-Locks-/Asec-Garage-Door-Lock.html some years ago now. I did a special order and had 3 pairs keyed alike. They work well enough and I had no problems fitting them other than I fitted mine vertically (bolt going down onto the floor) and the hole needs a good SDS or similar drill in concrete. All metal garage doors are a bit of a weak point because the whole door is hardly strongly built being thin metal. henry d
That's the type, and basically what I found out trawling the internet, but some locksmiths were saying that they should be professionally fitted @ £150! Thanks for the reply.
Medic1281
I’ve got those, they are brilliant, and easy to install with care.

I'm only a very average DIYer and it was no problem to me, though I did get a builder friend to drill the holes in the concrete with his SDS as my basic drill was not really up to the job. They work very well and were incredibly easy to fit. They operate smoothly, in fact too smoothly as my 6 year old locks me in with the bottom one. Having the lock on the inside is a lot more difficult.
