JSB slugs.177

Well been down my range to try the new JSB 10g slug . Guns used HW100K & BSA ultra  , 

Not good past 45 yards  , imo these are no good in sub 12 , slugs running @ 635 FPS , which is not faster enough for slugs .

BSA ultra running @ 644 FPS but better groups hard to tell as I have pulsar N970lrf night vision scope on , bit difficult during daylight 

I will keep to JSB heavies 10.3 running @ 715 FPS & pellet on pellet and even at 60 yards ,still within 5 pence coin 

This is with HW , last pic @ 50 yards

That's the thing for me, will they perform better than heavies,  my barrel likes most things, so I can't see slugs performing any better, or me having a need for them.

Slugs for me are for higher speeds/power, pellets do a great job at sub 12 and sub 40mtr

Sounds like you had  a pretty significant muzzle energy drop to go with the lighter slugs also .

This I also  found with the other 10.3 grn slugs I tried .

Interesting findings villaman, I honestly thought they'd do better.

I knew they would be a drop in FPS , but not that much , hoping for high 600 to low 700 FPS

Thanks for doing the research . I will stick to the JSB Hedes , which perform  so well in my HW110.
