welsh1
Not my favourite company due to past experiance, this time i ordered a carbon bike helmet from Holland, it took 12 hours to get to stanstead, then the usual 7 days in customs, all the while fed ex telling me it would be delibvered a week ago. This morning the status changed to being delivered today by 18.00, well thats been and gone and the status now states by end of day, according to the assistant on line that means by 00.00, i expect the status will change again. Sometimes it's not about saving a few quid, it's about getting the item in the first place. I had the same problem with a fishing reel component. No one local had it, no one nationally had it, so what could be done, other than go to the manufacturer and get one ordered from the far east? FedEx got it through five different countries, seven airports and goodness knows how many individual carriers, then managed to lose it completely between Poole and Dorchester. Now due to manufacturing slow downs in the far east, Okuma won't have the part in again until next year. Added to which, the call handler I spoke to when chasing it lied to me and told me it hadn't got through customs in Stansted, despite the fact the tracking already had it in Poole and the advanced tracking clearly showed it had cleared customs the day before. Thanks for that Fed Ex. Edited November 15, 2021 by chrisjpainter

Even at full price there is no local dealer that could match it, and to my knowledge there are no british manufacturers of helmets like this. In fact there are very few helmet manufacturers in the uk, and none i can think of that make carbon fibre helmets.

ShootingEgg
Standard fed ex.. I had a delivery failed delivery as I wasn't home, yet I've worked at home since 17th march 2020.... Then I call to say why lie to me, and they say the driver has definitely been there, to which I say the CCTV shows otherwise so again stop lying. Then 5 minutes later I get a delivery notification. Again nope, not happened.. the next day I get a knock at the door from a neighbour 4 doors down .. had just arrived... Unreal and awful service. welsh1
I accepted a fed ex parcel for my son, and as i walked into the house i thought the seal looked like it had been tampered with, i phoned the son and he told me to open it, when opened it had a lovely cleaning cloth, but not the diamond engagement ring he had ordered so he could propose later that week when home on leave, some toe rag had sliced the parcel on the seal with a sharp blade nicked the ring and sealed it back up. fed ex were totally useless and tried to deny and even blame me.Luckily the diamond dealer in usa was fantastic and when they heared son was in the Army and he was going to propose on leave they said they would get a new ring to me in 48 hrs and a higher quality diamond, they also said their "fraud agents" would be investigating, true to their word i had the ring 48 hrs later, and no it wasn't delivered by fed ex. Centrepin
My local Fed ex guy is a shooter and always stops for a chat. He also warns me if he's off for a period. Recently when I was ill he spoke to me on the Ring doorbelI then brought the parcel in the house and asked if there was any thing he could do for me. I try to make a point of not ordering anything from outside the country, or delivered by hermes. I'd sooner pay more for British goods and delivery by other couriers. welsh1
Update. Well my helmet still hasn't been delivered, instead of coming to me as promised it went to a depot in Bedford, and from there it has moved overnight to a depot in Swansea, so it's getting closer. welsh1
Last update. At 12.30 i had an update stating parcel delivery date not available, so i popped out, and at 16.50 another update stating my shipment had been delayed and it was estimated to arrive on thursday , then at 16 51 a text saying they were unable to deliver my parcel and a link to rearrange a delivery date. So i went on the site to update a delivery only to see it had been signed for by a neighbour at 15.45, and sure enough when i get home there's my parcel. I don't think fed ex's left hand knows what its right hand is doing, a truely shambolic system, i send hundreds of items through the post every year for the company i work for, fed ex is a courier we will never use. I try the helmet on, it's stunning, i love it, the wife then tells me to put it back in the box as it's my Christmas present and i can have it christmas day😪 this was not part of the plan.
