Minky
Yeah. Back when, years ago, a bloke George that shot with us was given a box of Gevalot cartridges.? Now he was a sort of pompous chap who didn't use ANYTHING other than Eley Grand Prix #5.,,,,,Rat to an elephant #5. He gave the box of Gevalot cartridges to me with a sort of... "have these foreign things. They'll probably do for you.!!". Well I thankfully accepted the box. Now we did walked up, the duck pond and various bits so if they went bang then they'd be ok. These cartridges were very good and whenever I could I would shoot a pheasant near him (steal his bird). I would apologise to him and thank him for those magnificent Gevalot cartridges that he'd given me even though most of the pheasants had been shot with anything that was in the bag. I always kept a couple of spent cases in the bag. He never knew the truth. George was a true high altitude specialist. And he would knock down pigeons that were up there like sparrows on oxygen. He had time to roll a fag, light it, hold the game bag open ready for the bird to drop into it.
