A breeding attempt along the banks of the River Wye took place in 2005 by a pair of Bee Eaters, unfortunately the Chicks were predated by a fox, all under the 24 hour watch of the RSPB. old'un Posted July 1, 2022 Report Share Posted July 1, 2022 22 minutes ago, islandgun said: Beautiful birds, but what about the Bee crisis ?....😉 I would think most bee keeper would not be happy to see Bee Eaters in or near their apiary. just been reading up on Bee Eaters, it seems that the honey bee can makeup as much 80% of its diet in summer, also an interesting thing, which I did not know, is Honey Buzzards (summer visitor) also eat bees and wasps and according to the experts they will dig-out a wasp nest for the grubs.
