Head torch solo foxing

Well lads new year new resolution is to go out more foxing on my own wanted advice I use a scope mounted torch on my 222 but a friend of mine uses this head lamp when shooting on he’s own and thinks it’s better than the scope torch I don’t want to go down the road of NV ETC as I love my Schmitt @Bender scope and I’m old fashioned lol Any Opinions

Would you go rear NV add on and still retain the scope: PARD NV007SP 2K CMOS 850nm Non LRF Night Vision Rear Add On (opticswarehouse.co.uk)

Or front thermal add on and again still retain the scope for day time etc.

Gerry, personally I think you will find it awkward lining up the lamp and scope. Tried it and gave up, ended up with a scope mounted nightmaster abd a pig tail switch mounted on the stock with velcro.

If you can go with the awkwardness of a head light, they do work but you will need to add a sleeve to prevent flooding out the scope and rifle with excess light.

 

Also be aware, Clulite rebadges last generation Chinese lights and charges 4x the price you can get them directly via Aliexpress or on eBay. Their 3w led head torch might do 50m.

I use on of these and throws a true 250m beam with a XHP 110 LED supplied with batteries for about £21.

Yes mate using scope mounted torch I can find awkward using it but have shot foxes

Thanks for reply’s lads everyone I know uses NV THERMAL ETC I know it does work But I’m set in my ways so it’s probably be some sort of Lamping outfit 👍👍

I have a PARD NV007A add on and a Sightmark Wraith 2-16 HD NV scope, even still I use a dual 18650 powered red LED lamp to find my target then stalk in to a suitable range using the 17HMR. Lamping does work and allows ease of movement while searching as you still have the view of your even if somewhat dark surroundings.

Thanks Ryan I’ve just emailed optics warehouse for information on the pard add/on to see if it fit’s Schmitt bender 6x42 scope but not 100 percent sure if NV Will work for me lol
