Morning all,

I have a few sticks ready to start making up now they have seasoned nicely. On looking in my box of tricks I note that I am short on cuff all and bone spacers. Popped onto eBay and my….. how the price has increased since I last bought any!
Does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced supplier?
Regards

Graham

Everything stick related has gone stupid in price ,especially after highland horn , finished trading , buffalo horn ,if you find any was about £12 a piece for grade A , now trades anywhere between 20-40+ £ a piece, ferrules , used to be 50p tops now about £1.50 , that's for a basic ferrule, antler gone stupid prices as well , easiest way for spacers is to cast them out of resin ,colour them to your taste ! Rams horn is another kettle of fish , going to need a set of bulking blocks press etc , quite a big investment for sure in expense & time ! Harvest your own shanks ......

It is certainly quite a surprise when you go to restock…..

I haven’t made any sticks for a good while. I am lucky enough to have some lovely Blackthorne within walking distance of my house and cut a good few Shanks in January for next year. As I am getting older and have less energy for shooting then I think I can find more energy for stick making. I have a mate who cuts me some nice oak handles but these are like concrete to work on…. The finished effect is good however and will last many years. I have a book somewhere that described making handles with Rams horn so I need to dig that out…
