ilovemyheckler
Central locking not working advice please I have a 2020 Barbarian X (series 6) and when I bought it I had a canopy fitted and the canopy door and tailgate connected to the central locking. The truck doors and canopy door work fine with the central locking but the tailgate doesn't. The tailgate is permanently locked. I cannot now open the tailgate. Any ideas how I can do a temporary fix so at least I can open and close the tailgate even if it doesn't lock? Gordon R
Can you access the tailgate lock, via a panel on the tailgate?

ilovemyheckler
Can't get access to the lock as I can't open the tailgate Tailgate needs to be open to unscrew cover and access the lock so nowhere for WD40 to go as there is no key hole
Spr1985
Does it not have the Mitsubishi 5 year warranty? have you checked the fuses? Cabling that normally runs underneath truck and then into the loom further forward on the vehicle ( may be a break in the cable)
gdadphil
Do you have fox cubs locally? I had £600 of damage last year on my Vitara due to them munching cables and sensors! atb gdadphil
marsh man
What about having a mobile car locksmith come and have a look ? , the chap I got to look at mine when my key wouldn't turn in the ignition sorted it out in no time and certainly had some clever gear to find what the problem is . Hope you get it sorted out .
ilovemyheckler
Thanks all but after 48 hours of not working it has started to work again! As GingerCat suggested I have applied WD40 and hopefully all will be ok. Its in for a service in early May so I have asked them to look at it. It will be going when new one arrives so I want to make sure everything is working at the point of sale
